‘Accountability and high expectations of both staff and students are developing aspects of the school at all levels and these contribute to the increasing capacity for sustaining the improvement that is already taking place.’ Trevor Riddiough HMI
We are pleased to inform you that our Ofsted Report is now available through the link below. The inspection confirmed the school’s own self-evaluation that we are a ‘Satisfactory’ school that is taking ‘a concerted approach to improving outcomes ... that have already had a marked effect on teaching and behaviour.’
The inspection report acknowledges all of the work of the school and its impact since September: ‘in a very short time systems have been introduced that track students’ progress closely, to establish a positive climate of learning.’
We are looking forward to working together to address the action points in the report so that we continue to move the school forward. However, the school was praised on its ambitious vision, ‘clearly focused on raising students’ attainment’ and noted that most of the building blocks for this work are already in place.
I would like to extend a huge thank you to all parents, students, staff and Governors for their support. I am most proud to lead a school that has been described as a ‘cohesive and ordered community’ where ‘the school’s mission is very clear and universally supported’

The Hertfordshire Safeguarding Children Board (HSCB) has launched a safe sleeping campaign to highlight the dangers of sleeping with your baby.
300 babies in the UK die suddenly and unexpectedly in their sleep every year as a result of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS); commonly known as cot death. In Hertfordshire, nearly a third of these types of deaths could have been avoided.
The safest place for your baby to sleep is in a cot, moses basket or crib in your room. Although we don’t always know what causes many sad, unexpected deaths, it has been proven that if the parent is a smoker, under the influence of drugs or alcohol, or just very tired, falling asleep with their baby significantly increases the risk of sudden infant death.

A huge thank you to everyone who contributed to our recent OFSTED Inspection. Particular thanks to all of the parents/carers and students who returned their questionnaires for the OFSTED team. We are pleased with how the inspection went, but are unable to provide any more detail than that until the report is published in 4 weeks time when it will be made available on the website.
