The Barclay School

1. The Parent/Carer(s) I/We will:
• see that my child goes to school regularly, on time, in school uniform and properly equipped
• let the school know about any concerns or problems that might affect my child’s work or behaviour
• inform the school promptly if my child is absent, either by phone or in writing
• support my child in homework and other opportunities for home learning
• attend parents’ meetings and other sessions arranged to help in my child’s progress
• know about my child’s life at school
• work in partnership with the school to enhance my child’s success
• discuss and encourage safe use of the Internet

2. The school will
• work in partnership with parent/carer(s) and students to achieve success
• contact parent/carer(s) if there is a problem with attendance, punctuality, equipment or illness
• let parent/carer(s) know about any concerns or problems that affect their child’s work or behaviour
• be vigilant in implementing all school’s policies, especially Bullying and Racism
• keep regular contact and report on progress and achievements
• set, mark and monitor homework and provide facilities for children to do homework in school
• arrange parents’ meetings during which progress and achievement will be discussed
• keep parent/carer(s) informed about school activities through regular letters home, newsletters and notices about special events
• take and use appropriate images of students only where parent/carer(s) have provided consent
• give safe guidelines for the safe use of the internet

3. The Student
I will:
• attend school regularly and on time
• bring all the equipment I need every day
• wear the school uniform and be tidy in appearance
• do all my classwork and homework as well as I can
• be polite, respectful and helpful to others
• keep the school free from litter and graffiti
• always do my best when representing the school
• follow all reasonable instructions given by staff
• only use the internet for appropriate and safe purposes
