Mr Alex Lang from Stevenage Borough council organised a comprehensive programme of information gathering and interactive activities that culminated in an exercise where students decided how they would spend £17 million of Local Government funding. All groups presented their budget and priorities for spending taxpayers’ money to a critical panel of judges. In the end the day was announced a great learning experience and a success for active citizenship. A big thank you to Mr Alex Lang for organising the day, Councillor David Kissane and Mayor Graham Clark for insights into council life and deliberations. Finally, another big thank you to MEP Christopher Beazley for his enlightened insight into life in Brussels and the the European Parliament.
