The Barclay School

We have a straightforward and simple school uniform for all students in Years 7 to 11.  Consultations with parents have indicated that our uniform policy is one they support.
It is therefore required that your child is dressed in full and correct uniform.

For boys, school uniform is:
• White Shirt
• School Tie
• Dark Grey/Black/Navy Blue Trousers
• KS3: Navy round-necked school sweatshirt with Barclay School logo (available from school uniform shop)
• KS4 and Year 9:  Black sweatshirt or v-neck jumper with Barclay School logo (available from school uniform shop)
• Black shoes
For girls, school uniform is:
• White Blouse with collar
• Dark Grey/Black/Navy Blue Trousers or knee length Skirt
• KS3: Navy round-necked school sweatshirt with Barclay School logo (available from school uniform shop)
• KS4: Black sweatshirt or v-neck jumper with Barclay School logo (available from school uniform shop)
• Black shoes
All students will require an apron for technology lessons in order to protect their school uniform.  These are available from school or can be purchased locally.
School ties are available from the school finance office.
The wearing of jewellery is discouraged.  However, a small pair of earrings, one neck chain and a small ring maybe worn if essential.  No other piercing is allowed.
Students are required to be dressed correctly following the rules below:
Boys:
• Top button must be done up
• Ties must be tied to the top, minimum of 5 stripes fat side to the front
• Shirts must be tucked in
• Trainers may not be worn (this includes canvas shoes and boots)
• The only jumpers to be worn to and from school is a Barclay school jumper/ sweatshirt
• Hoodies made of sweatshirt material may not be worn
Girls:
• School shirts with collar must be worn, they must be able to button to the top, they must be long enough to tuck into trousers or skirts
• White t-shirts only may be worn underneath and must not be visible
• The only button to be undone is the top button by the collar
• The only jumpers to be worn to and from school is a Barclay school jumper/ sweatshirt
• Hoodies made of sweatshirt material may not be worn
