BSA

THE BARCLAY SCHOOL ASSOCIATION

The Purpose

The Association’s role is very different to that of the school governors.  We work with the Deputy Head to support the school in different ways and primarily raise funds to enhance the facilities available for all children attending the school.

The BSA also helps the school’s association with a local charity, the North Herts Multiple Sclerosis Centre, by running a bar at their events, hosted at the school.

Supporting the School

In the last few months BSA members have helped Barclay by:

• Hosting a Quiz selling over 200 tickets.
• Helping by running a bar for a Quiz at school in aid of the North Herts Therapy Centre.
• Providing refreshments for the school production of ‘We Will Rock You’.
• Providing refreshments at the Yr 6 transfer evening.
• Staffing the bar during school lettings.

Money raised has bought:

* Lighting for the Drama Department.
• Inter-House Trophies.
• Improvements to Russell Court.
• Extra equipment for the AEN Department
• A Basket Ball Team strip
• Funds towards the minibus
• The End of Year winning House trip to Thorpe Park

We are always looking for more parents, carers, friends & grandparents to help in whatever way they can.  You do not have to have a child in the school in order to be part of the BSA.

Do I have to join a committee?

We are a charity so we have a committee with the traditional roles of Chairperson, Treasurer, Secretary. However, you do not need to become part of the committee to help.

We do have regular meetings, but you do not have to attend all of them; just keep in touch by phone or email.

Some ways you can help

  • By just attending one of our fund raising events.
  • By offering to deliver a small number of leaflets in your local street when an event is being organised.
  • Helping at a specific fund raising event like our Quiz
  • Offering to help with a school production.
  • Selling a small number of tickets for an event.
  • Just putting up a poster on your work notice board.
  • Helping to run a Bar at an event being held at the school.

If you are interested in helping, please contact us via the School or on this email address:  This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it
