The Barclay School

Gifted and Talented

Approximately 10% of our students are on the Barclay School register for the Able Gifted and Talented. These students are indentified from a combination of resources such as primary school records and results, CATs and school based assessments and teacher observations and recommendations.

All members of staff are aware of these Able Gifted and Talented students and should provide a suitable curriculum and challenge for their needs.

We try to provide a wide range of extra curricular provision such as the Barclay Summer School, involvement with national associations, outreach events, university links and a variety of school clubs and societies, most notably in sport, music and drama.

In addition to the Barclay Able Gifted and Talented register each subject area and department will have their own register of able students who excel in their area.
